Vipanj founded iSherpa Capital
in February 2000 on a few simple tenets: venture capital firms
should be active, hands-on investors (like the founders of
the industry); sector focus is the only way to truly understand
and stay current with innovation in an industry; and wireless
is at the cusp of experiencing tremendous growth and innovation.
Prior to founding iSherpa, he practiced corporate finance
and securities law at Morris, Manning & Martin, working
with entrepreneurs to secure venture capital financing and
taking technology companies public. Vipanj actively works
with our portfolio companies to provide operational and strategic
guidance and represents iSherpa on the Board of Directors
of TechnoCom, TensorComm, TransDimension and u-Nav Microelectronics.
He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Colorado
Venture Capital Association and TiE – Rockies, as well
as a former Board member of Nokia Innovent.
Vipanj holds a BS in Biology from the University of Southern
California, where he was a recipient of the Howard Hughes
Fellowship, and a JD from Georgia State University.
